Akea is a social enterprise with a mission to empower local communities. Akea provides, healthy traditional food menu, catering, events, training and employment opportunities to refugees, connecting them with the local community and giving them a sense of belonging.

Located in Footscray-a multicultural hub, this social enterprise is a place where the community will feel at home and welcome. We aim to help refugees integrate, socialize, overcome the language barrier, and bridge the generational gap among the diaspora and their children through cultural education, workplace training and employment skills.
